August 3, 2015
The Ellettsville Parks Board met in a regular meeting on Monday, August 3, 2015, at the Ellettsville Fire Department Training and Conference Room, 5080 West State Road 46, Bloomington, Indiana. Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:29 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance
John Garrett, a Boy Scout, led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members in Attendance
Jimmie Durnil, President; Claudetta Kelly, Secretary; and Amy Slabaugh were present. Richard Pease was absent.
Jimmie Durnil and members took a moment of silence to remember Geraldine McIntyre, a long time Park Board member, who was everything to Ellettsville. Thank you Geraldine for all you did for the Park Board.
Review of Accounts Payable Expenditures
Jimmie Durnil noted there is a balance of $45,435.08 and $20,000 has been appropriated for them to use. He thinks there are some things the Town Council would like to do with those funds.
John Garrett, a Boy Scout, attended a meeting a few months prior seeking approval for an Eagle Scout project. He has completed the project proposal and got approval from his committee but needs a signature from the beneficiary to move on and get the final plan started. Jimmie Durnil signed the forms. Mr. Garrett explained he attended summer camp and presented the project proposal to his scout committee who approved it. Before he can get the remainder of the signatures, he needs the signature of the beneficiary. Now, after he gets the signature of his Scout Master the proposal can be sent to the Hoosier Scout Council (“Council”). Once the Council approves the project proposal he can start creating the final plan. Mr. Durnil asked if this is so he can obtain his Eagle Scout. Mr. Garrett replied yes.
Jimmie Durnil mentioned there was a budget meeting on June 8, 2015. Ms. Kelly believes it got approved. Mr. Durnil will check on the status with the Clerk-Treasurer.
Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to adjourn. Claudetta Kelly made a motion to adjourn. Amy Slabaugh seconded. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 5:34 p.m.
