The Ellettsville Parks Board met in a regular meeting on Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Town Hall Meeting Room located at 1150 W. Guy McCown Drive. Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members in Attendance
Present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Holly Nethery, Vice President; Claudetta Kelly, Trevor Sager and Amy Slabaugh.
Approval of Minutes
Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to approve the minutes. Holly Nethery made a motion to approve the minutes. Trevor Sager seconded. Motion carried.
Jimmie Durnil advised the balance decreased because of spending approximately $2,800 for playground equipment repairs and spindles for the stage at Marci Jane Lewis Park. He would like for members to go to Old Town Hall and select four to five items they would like framed. Ms. Nethery asked the current balance. Mr. Durnil answered it is $1,490 + $1,759, electricity of $1,220 and an insurance payment of $5,115 that will go toward repairs from an accident.
Jimmie Durnil announced Food Truck Wednesday is still going on. Ms. Nethery provided an update on Food Truck Wednesday.
Jimmie Durnil has spoken with everyone on a list, provided by Mary Ann Steinhagen, of people who donated items to the Ellettsville History Center (“History Center”). Everyone told him the donations belong to the History Center and they can do what they want with them. It was decided to prepare a written agreement for people who donated items to sign. He is concerned about mold getting on Pill Box Hats and old Ellettsville Journals.
Holly Nethery reminded everyone the Monroe County Fall Festival (“Festival”) will be held from September 20 – 22, 2018. She will be working on Education Day. The Park Board doesn’t have the manpower for a booth. Ms. Slabaugh suggested preparing a bulletin board with old photos for the Festival. Ms. Nethery explained the Festival has a display of historical photos. Ms. Slabaugh suggested displaying old sports photos. Ms. Kelly advised The Ellettsville Journal had two file cabinets containing old photos but doesn’t know what happened to them. Mr. Durnil will contact The Ellettsville Journal about the photos.
Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. Holly Nethery made a motion to adjourn. Amy Slabaugh seconded. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 5:44 p.m.
