January 3, 2018
The Ellettsville Parks Board met in a regular meeting on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Town Hall Meeting Room located at 1150 W. Guy McCown Drive. Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members in Attendance
Present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Holly Nethery, Vice President; Claudetta Kelly, Secretary; and Amy Slabaugh. Carol Hoobyar was absent.
Approval of Minutes
Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to approve the minutes. Holly Nethery made a motion to approve the minutes. Amy Slabaugh seconded. Motion carried.
Jimmie Durnil reviewed the Accounts Payable. The Park Board did a lot of things in 2017, mainly with Old Town Hall. They may have to do a little update upstairs. The Clerk-Treasurer’s office has removed their paperwork. Utilities is to remove their paperwork this month. The budget was cut quite a bit from last year. Their ending balance for 2017 was $10,354.12.
Election of Officers
Jimmie Durnil opened nominations for President. Holly Nethery nominated Jimmie Durnil. Amy Slabaugh seconded. Motion carried.
Jimmie Durnil opened nominations for Vice President. Amy Slabaugh nominated Holly Nethery. Jimmie Durnil seconded. Motion carried.
Jimmie Durnil opened nominations for Secretary. Holly Nethery nominated Claudetta Kelly. Amy Slabaugh seconded. Motion carried.
Jimmie Durnil advised Monroe County Public Library (“Library”) is vacating the alley to the west to add on to their building. He and Rick Coppock met with the Library who agreed to purchase the necessary materials to re-route the sewer/water lines and to update the lighting at Memorial Park. Lighting will be maintained by the Parks Board.
Holly Nethery discussed plans for Old Town Hall. She wants it to serve as a meeting room for the community. Ms. Kelly mentioned Tiffany Willingham met with representatives of the Monroe County Museum about preserving materials for the Ellettsville History Center. There was a lengthy discussion on the use of Old Town Hall and the Ellettsville History Center.
Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. Holly Nethery made a motion to adjourn. Amy Slabaugh seconded. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
