Old Business

Holly Nethery advised the Facebook page has 230 likes and has a lot of activity.  The web page is not a priority since they have the Facebook page.

Holly Nethery summarized the open house at the Police station on July 2, 2016.  She, Ms. Slabaugh and Ms. Hoobyar represented the Parks Board at the open house.  They had fliers available about the Park Board and had several questions about the Heritage Trail.

Carol Hoobyar submitted a proposal to change the name of the old Town Hall to “History Hall”.  The old Town Hall was vacated after a flood and turned over to the Parks Board.  It’s her understanding they can’t use the word “museum”.  The building is being used to store photos and memorabilia of the Town’s history.  Changing the name will give the facility its own identity and describe the building’s current use.  This will take away the confusion between the new Town Hall and old Town Hall.  Town Hall and History Hall will be two distinct facilities serving the community.  Ms. Nethery likes the idea and the reasoning behind it.  After a discussion it was decided to table this until the next meeting.

Holly Nethery entertained a motion to table this until the next meeting.  Claudetta Kelly so moved.  Amy Slabaugh seconded.  Motion carried.

Amy Slabaugh mentioned RBB Sports has to move out of Eagles Landing and they’re looking for an office.  If anyone knows of an available office let her know.  Would the Park Board rent out a portion of old Town Hall?  They just need a small office, telephone and electricity and they can pay rent.  Ms. Nethery suggested she talk to Jimmie Durnil because he has a vision for old Town Hall.

Adjournment

Holly Nethery entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Amy Slabaugh made a motion to adjourn.  Carol Hoobyar seconded.  The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
