New Business

Jimmie Durnil introduced Kent Stone and Collin Stone.  Collin Stone requested approval to relocate the Chief Little Turtle Monument from Turning Point Apostolic Church to the Heritage Trail for an Eagle Scout Project.  In front of the monument the Boy Scouts will place a stone turtle.  They will dig down 4” to 5”, put landscaping fabric down and place flat stones for a walkway to the Chief Little Turtle Monument and the stone turtle.  The monument will be 12’ from the Trail and flat rocks will be placed around it.  They’ll clear 60 yards of vegetation from around the creek.  Six flowering shrubs will be placed directly behind the monument.  Ms. Slabaugh asked where it will be located.  Mr. Durnil answered people will be able to see the monument from the church.  Ms. Nethery asked what maintenance will be required for the flowering shrubs.  Mr. Stone answered he is uncertain but they won’t be too large.  (Due to excessive background chatter portions of this discussion were provided by Jimmie Durnil.)

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to approve the request to put the monument on the trail.  Holly Nethery made a motion to approve the request to put the monument on the trail.  Carol Hoobyar seconded.  Motion carried, 4-1.
