Old Business

5 Year Master Plan

Parks Board members reviewed the draft of the 5 Year Master Plan. Several corrections on locations, grammar, spelling and general information were made. These corrections will be submitted to Professor Segedy. The Parks Board is requesting a digital copy of the report in order to make corrections to the electronic files to speed up the process.

Skate Park

All old equipment has been removed due to safety hazards. New equipment will be investigated and purchased with the remaining grant money. The House of Prayer assembly used the facilities during their weekend event and did an excellent job of cleaning up and leaving the area in great condition.  The multi-purpose building at the Skate Park will be winterized in the near future. The Street Department, in charge of the winterization, asked permission to install small heaters and leave them on during the winter instead of complete flushing out of plumbing. The doors will then be locked with the heaters on a low heat maintenance temperature. Pending Fire Department approval, this will be done to keep the restroom facility throughout the winter.  L.D. Axsom motioned to approve the installation and use of the heaters and Edwin Macatangay seconded. The motion approved 4-0.

Budget

The bill for the new Basketball goal was reviewed. The bill amounted to $645.00. There was a short discussion of the Parks Board reviewing all expenditures during the beginning of each months meeting. This will help the Parks Board be more aware of its monthly expenditures, particularly when and where money is being spent. This should make for better budget preparation and oversight of appropriate expenditures.

The meeting was moved to adjourn by Jeff Frownfelter and seconded by L.D. Axsom. All members voted to adjourn, meeting adjourned at 9:02 PM. Motion carried 4-0
