The Ellettsville Parks Board met in a regular meeting on Monday, October 1, 2018, at the Town Hall Meeting Room located at 1150 W. Guy McCown Drive.  Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Members in Attendance

Present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Holly Nethery, Vice President; Claudetta Kelly, Trevor Sager and Amy Slabaugh.

 

Approval of Minutes

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to approve the minutes.  Minutes were not approved as they are to be corrected to remove the statement of Ms. Slabaugh that includes the wording “saving all of the copies of The Ellettsville Journal. 

 

Accounts Payable

Jimmie Durnil advised there is approximately $7,000 remaining in the budget.  There is $1,759 in the Heritage Improvement Trail, $555 in Electric, $1,365 in Miscellaneous, and $1,248 in Parks and Recreation Materials which may be needed for a sidewalk upgrade.  Kip Headdy of the Street Department has contacted Cassidy Electric for a bid to install the new lighting at Memorial Park.  There will be five lights on the memorial and six lights on the flag pole.  Electricity will be connected by Duke Energy.  They will discuss the parking lot at the next supervisors meeting.

 

Old Business

Holly Nethery thought the Monroe County Fall Festival (“Fall Festival”) went well.  There was a discussion on Fall Festival activities.  Ms. Nethery complimented Town departments for their work on the Fall Festival.  There will be a Fall Festival organizational meeting on October 11, 2018.

 

Jimmie Durnil advised Food Truck Wednesday has ended for the year.  Several people came into Old Town Hall during Food Truck Wednesday. 

 

New Business

Jimmie Durnil advised Donna Middleton wants to volunteer her time at Old Town Hall.  Gary Middleton has loaned a 1963 letter jacket to the History Center.  Ms. Nethery announced scanning day is October 27, 2018.

 

Adjournment

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Holly Nethery made a motion to adjourn.  Trevor Sagar seconded.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
