The Ellettsville, Indiana Plan Commission met in regular session at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2000. Members present were Kevin Farris, President; David Sorokoty, Vice President; David Drake, Secretary; Frank Buczolich, Sandra Hash, and Geraldine McIntyre. Mr. Farris called the meeting to order.
The minutes of the following meetings were reviewed by the Plan Commission:
March 13, 1997; April 10, 1997; June 12, 1997; July 21, 1997; September 11, 1997 October 9, 1997; January 20, 1998; May 14, 1998; June 15, 1998; January 14, 1999 February 11, 1999; March 11, 1999; March 13, 1999; April 8, 1999; June 10, 1999 August 12, 1999; December 2, 1999; May 4, 2000.
There was some discussion about whether most of these minutes had been approved previously, but just hadnít been signed. Sorokoty moved that the minutes be approved. The motion was seconded by McIntyre. The motion passed with a vote of 6-0.
Town Planner Bill Land announced that there would be a Work Session for the Plan Commission at the Town Hall at 7:00PM on June 6, 2000. The session will involve working on the East Ellettsville Area Plan.
Drake provided the Plan Commission with a report from the Wireless Communications Tower Committee. Members were provided with a draft of the ordinance to review and come back with comments at the next regular meeting.
A public hearing is then planned for the August meeting.
Ordinance 00-14 was introduced and read. This ordinance amends Chapter 854 of the Ellettsville Town Code to add Section 40, which provides that utility lines will be buried underground in all new subdivisions approved after the effective date of the ordinance. After discussion, the ordinance was amended to delete the requirement that utility lines be shown on the Preliminary Plat. McIntyre moved that Ordinance 00-14, as amended, be introduced and forwarded to a Public Hearing at the next regular meeting on July 6, 2000. The motion was seconded by Buczolich. The motion passed with a vote of 6-0.
The Plan Commission reviewed a letter from Jim Davis concerning a complaint from Darlene Thacker about a fence at 555 Miami Street. The complaint is that the fence is much closer than the required 20 foot setback from the road. Farris will consult with the Town Attorney and look into the matter.
The Plan Commission also received a complaint about a group home operating in the Meadowlands at 843 Clover Drive. The complaint was made by Jeff Watters, who lives at 832 Clover Drive. Farris will consult with Town Engineer Rick Coppock and the Town Attorney to determine whether there is any violation of Town Code.
Sorokoty moved that the meeting be adjourned, and the motion was seconded by McIntyre. The motion passed with a vote of 6-0.
