Old Business

Jimmie Durnil provided an update on Old Town Hall.  The wall has been removed, wiring has been moved and drywall and ductwork will start on August 8, 2017.  It should be ready to be cleaned in approximately one week.  The Police Department custodian will do the cleanup work.  Utilities will help with the trim.  They will go to old Town Hall at the next meeting.

New Business

Jimmie Durnil advised their budget for 2018 has been drastically reduced.

Jimmie Durnil commented the Turtle Monument has been relocated to the Heritage Trail.

Claudetta Kelly announced the next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, because of Labor Day.

Carol Hoobyar asked since Old Town Hall is progressing can they look ahead to having a contest to name it and involve the community.  Mr. Durnil prefers “Old Town Hall.”  Ms. Kelly had a conversation with Scott Oldham who told her the Town Council will have a say in what the old Town Hall is named.  Ms. Nethery doesn’t think the words “Town Hall” should be in the name.  Ms. Hoobyar agrees.  There was a discussion on having an open house when old Town Hall is ready to open.

Amy Slabaugh asked who will be moving the museum items to old Town Hall.  Mr. Durnil answered it will be the Parks Board and museum.

Holly Nethery asked if the Parks Board wanted to be involved with the Monroe County Fall Festival.  Ms. Slabaugh suggested perhaps they could serve as a sponsor.  Mr. Durnil said the Parks Board had donated a bench but will check into it to find out if there is anything else they can do.

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Holly Nethery made a motion.  Carol Hoobyar seconded.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 5:42 p.m.
