The Ellettsville, Indiana, Town Council met for a budget meeting on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., at the Ellettsville Town Hall Meeting Room located at 1150 W. Guy McCown Drive.  Members present were Scott Oldham, President; Kevin Farris, Brice Teter and Scott Thomas.  Brian Mobley was absent.  Jim Davis, Town Manager, and Sandra Hash, Clerk-Treasurer, were also present.  Supervisors present were Kevin Tolloty and Danny Stalcup.


Year 2018 Budgets


Kevin Tolloty, Planning Director, presented the 2018 Planning Department Budget to the Council for review.


Danny Stalcup, Street Commissioner, presented the 2018 MVH, Local Roads and Street, CCI and Stormwater Budgets to the Council for review.


Jim Davis expressed concern about the June cash balances.  In the first 6 months of 2017 the expense exceeded the revenue by $100,000.  This lead to a long discussion over limiting the 2018 budget.  The Council dismissed the other supervisors and instructed Jim to work with supervisors to reduce the 2018 budget to the 2017 levels.  They also discussed the use of the LIT Public Safety Fund.  Scott Oldham stated one Firefighter and on Police Officer should be paid from the LIT Public Safety Fund.  The revised budget are to be presented at the July 26th meeting.


Meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:00 P.M.
