The Ellettsville Parks Board met in a regular meeting on Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Ellettsville Fire Department Training and Conference Room, 5080 West State Road 46, Bloomington, Indiana.  Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.


The following is taken from the notes of Jimmie Durnil and Amy Slabaugh:


Pledge of Allegiance

Jimmie Durnil led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance.


Members in Attendance

Jimmie Durnil, President, Richard Pease and Amy Slabaugh were present. Geraldine McIntyre and Claudetta Kelly were absent. 


Approval of Minutes

Richard Pease made a motion to approve the minutes for the previous meeting.  Amy Slabaugh seconded.  Motion carried.


Review of Accounts Payable Expenditures

S helter house rentals were reviewed.


New Business

John Garrett and Jim Garrett requested permission to upgrade signage and supply bird houses for the Wells Park at the Intermediate School for an Eagle Scout project.  John has a friend who will be upgrading signage at the same location.  The Park Board referred the Garrets’ to the Intermediate School Principal, Mrs. Lee, to work toward an agreement. 


Chris Fisher, Ellettsville Main Street, explained the recent progress on the Heritage Trail (“Trail”) which was dedicated in February.  The Indiana Department of Transportation has agreed to place a warning signal on west State Road 46 so walkers on the Trail can exit safely on to the sidewalk.  The Trail will be part of the Ellettsville park system.


Park Board Comments

The Park Board members are requesting a summary of funds available for projects during 2015. 



Richard Pease made a motion to adjourn.  Amy Slabaugh seconded.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
