November 6 2017

The Ellettsville Parks Board met in a regular meeting on Monday, November 6, 2017, at the Town Hall Meeting Room located at 1150 W. Guy McCown Drive.  Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Members in Attendance

Present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Holly Nethery, Vice President; Claudetta Kelly, Secretary; and Carol Hoobyar and Amy Slabaugh.

Approval of Minutes

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to approve the minutes.  Holly Nethery made a motion to approve the minutes.  Carol Hoobyar seconded.  Motion carried.

Accounts Payable

Jimmie Durnil reviewed the Accounts Payable.  They spent a lot of money remodeling Old Town Hall and some work was done on the Heritage Trail.  The budget for 2018 has been reduced.  The less they spend the more they will have the next year.

Approval of 2018 Meeting Dates

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to approve the meeting dates.  Holly Nethery made the motion.  Claudetta Kelly seconded.  Motion carried.

Old Business

Jimmie Durnil explained a lot of the work for Chief Little Turtle was done over the weekend but they’re running out of pavers.  They did a nice area cleaning out the creek so the church can see the monument.  They’re going to get a plaque made with the wording on the monument.

New Business

Jimmie Durnil isn’t going to be able to do much with “Santa on Sale Street” until after Thanksgiving.  Ms. Nethery emailed Chris Fisher and she said to check with Main Street to find out what is being done so they don’t overlap.  It would be nice to have something small to bring in children.  Mr. Durnil wants to make sure they have rugs for people to wipe their feet.  “Santa on Sale Street” will be held on December 9, 2017.  Mr. Durnil mentioned they will have a large plat and township maps to display.  After their meeting on December 4, 2017, could everyone work at Old Town Hall for one hour to set up for “Santa on Sale Street”?  He will contact The Ellettsville Journal.

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Holly Nethery made a motion to adjourn.  Amy Slabaugh seconded.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
