The Ellettsville Parks Board met in a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Town Hall Meeting Room located at 1150 W. Guy McCown Drive.  Jimmie Durnil called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.


Members in Attendance

Present were Jimmie Durnil, President; Holly Nethery, Vice President; Claudetta Kelly, Trevor Sager and Amy Slabaugh.


Approval of Minutes

Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to approve the minutes.  Holly Nethery made a motion to approve the minutes.  Trevor Sager seconded.  Motion carried.


Accounts Payable


Old Business

Jimmie Durnil has been working with the Street Department to order the materials needed to install the lighting at Memorial Park.  He requested permission from the Library Board to use their electricity and it was denied. 


Jimmie Durnil requested direction on whether or not to keep duplicate copies of The Ellettsville Journal stored in Old Town Hall.  He would like to throw them away.  Ms. Slabaugh wants to keep all copies. 


Holly Nethery asked if the graffiti on the pavilion stage had been removed.  Mr. Durnil answered it will be removed. 


Jimmie Durnil advised Main Street has moved the items they had in storage to the garage by the Heritage Trail.  Ms. Nethery asked if the parking area will be built in 2019.  Mr. Durnil has been told by Mike Farmer it will be completed this year.  Ms. Nethery asked if the cost to build the parking lot will come from the Park Board.  Mr. Durnil answered yes. 


New Business

Jimmie Durnil advised the next meeting of the Monroe County Fall Festival will be on September 13, 2018, at the Marci Jane Lewis Park.  There was a discussion on barricades and security at the Monroe County Fall Festival.



Jimmie Durnil entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Holly Nethery made a motion to adjourn.  Amy Slabaugh seconded.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 5:43 p.m.
