Gun Permits

Applications for gun permits must be completed online by visiting the Indiana State Police Website. Please follow the instructions provided with the application process.

Applicants who live in, or own a business in, the Ellettsville town limits will be processed at the Ellettsville Police Department. Applicants living outside of the town limits but in Monroe County will need to apply at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office located at 301 N. College Ave., Bloomington, Indiana.

After you have completed the online application, you will go to the police department to complete the required forms and pay the application fee.

Gun Permit Application Fees (All Fees Due Must be Paid with Cash, Check, or Money Order unless otherwise Noted.)

• 4-year permit: $10.00
• Lifetime Gun Permit Application (WITH current gun permit): $40.00
• Lifetime Gun Permit Application (with NO current gun permit): $50.00

NOTE: If you live outside of the Ellettsville town limits, you will need contact your local police department if you reside in a city or town or your county's sheriff's office if you do not live inside the boundaries of a city or town.
