Thanks to support from Indiana’s Community Crossings Matching Grant, several Ellettsville streets are being repaved this summer.

This week, crews got to work right away. Sale Street was milled on Monday, and today (Wednesday, July 24, 2025), milling wraps up on Higgins Court. Paving on Sale Street is scheduled to begin tomorrow (Thursday, July 25, 2025), with lane restrictions in place throughout the day. After that, crews will continue paving the remaining streets in order, with final paving expected to wrap up by early next week, ending with Higgins Court or Impatiens Street.

The Town uses the PASER rating system to prioritize road work, focusing on streets rated 5 or below. We also factor in traffic volume and perform annual street inspections to guide decisions. Ellettsville’s current average PASER rating is 6.68, with nearly 90% of our streets rated Fair or better.

Traffic reminder: No full road closures are expected, but please allow extra time for temporary lane restrictions and brief delays during construction.

The Community Crossings Grant covers 75% of the project cost, allowing us to resurface more roads with less out-of-pocket funding from the town.

Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to improve Ellettsville’s infrastructure!
